CUST, Bangladesh and FHNW, Switzerland Agreement Likely

The Central University of Science and Technology (CUST) of Bangladesh and the University of Applied Science and Arts North-western Switzerland (FHNW) have agreed to extend cooperation for each other for benefitting mutually in the field of higher education in Business & Commerce. The senior leaders of the both institutions have expressed their willingness in this regard in a meeting held in Malaysia on 01-02 November 2016. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Gazi Mahabubul Alam, FRSA, Chairman of CUST; Dr. Rolf-Dieter Reineke & Prof. Dr. Arie Hans Verkuil from School of Business-Institute of Management, University of Applied Science and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). The leader of FHNW team assured Chairman, CUST to explore the possibility to launch a Swiss Innovation Challenge Bangladesh program and to connect with the other Swiss Innovation Asia programs. It may be mentioned here that similar programme is available in countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam with the support of donor organizations. Other avenues of likely cooperation as outlined in the meeting are as follows:
1. Academic exchange program and advisory support to course and curricula development and moderation.
2. Potentiality in offering Twin-MBA and Masters Programs.
3. Student exchange program
4. Development of Engineering Lab
However, any such cooperative programme will be undertaken remaining within the purview of University Grant Commission (UGC), Bangladesh.
