Policy for International Student

Foreign applicants should send their academic transcripts and name of two referees for initial application to admission@cust.edu.bd.  After that, Admissions Office will contact with them about their eligibility for admission and will send an offer letter.

International applicants are selected on the basis of their prior academic result, English proficiency, and certification of adequate financial resources.

In addition, the international students need to provide the following documents after receiving offer letter.

  • Financial supporting documents
  • Government study permit
  • Personal Details with supporting Documents

After receiving the documents, the University will evaluate to send unconditional offer letter.

You need to pay Tuition Fees and Copy of Valid Visa and security clearance from respective Embassy/High Commission in Bangladesh after receiving unconditional offer letter.

Pre-Requisite for International Students

Undergraduate Programs

  • National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the marks 60% and above or
  • A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 2.50.
  • Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection program before being accepted by the respective school.

Students must obtain:

  • TOEFL score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 60 (IBT) and above or
  • IELTS Band 5.0 and above or
  • Pass in any equivalent English proficiency test approved and recognized by the Central University of Science & Technology (CUST).

Without any of the above English proficiency certificates, accepted students to CUST undergraduate programs would be issued with a conditional offer letter to fulfill the English language requirements.

Graduate Programs

  • Relevant Bachelor Degree with a CGPA of 2.50.
  • Applicant may be required to undergo an interview session for certain selection program before being accepted by the respective school.

Students must obtain:

Enrollment Process

Selection of Applicants

The list of eligible candidates to appear admission test will be displayed in the notice board and website of CUST (www.cust.edu.bd) and will be intimated to individual through SMS to the contact mobile number given by the applicant. Minimum qualifying marks in the written admission test is 40%. Merit list of candidates for final selection and admission to CUST will be notified in the notice board, website of CUST (www.cust.edu.bd) and by SMS to contact cell phone given by the applicant.

Admission

Candidates finally selected for admission will have to adhere to the following rules and procedures:

  • Candidates have to complete admission formalities within a fixed period of time as decided by admission committee.
  • Any candidate failing to complete admission formalities within the prescribed time will warrant cancellation of selection automatically.
  • Any student failing to attend the class within two weeks of the commencement of the academic program will warrant cancellation of his/her admission and forfeiture of all fees including security deposit.
  • Waiting lists will be prepared and displayed by the admission committee as per merit and be notified as per requirement.
Following documents are to be submitted during admission
  • Attested Photocopy of all Board Mark Sheets and Certificate/Testimonials
  • Three copies of recent colored & clear passport sized photographs.
  • A level appeared candidates are required to submit attested photocopy of A2 statement of entry and Mark Sheets of their A’S Level Exam.
  • Reference Letter from the head of the last institute attended.
  • Nationality certificate from proper authority/Birth certificate/National ID Card.
  • Applicants in Freedom Fighter category are requested to submit attested photocopy of (i) “Provisional Certificate” from Ministry of Liberation war affaires. (ii) Mukti Barta (iii) Gazette (iv) “National ID” of the freedom fighter (v) Birth Certificate/Death Certificate of the Freedom Fighter.

All documents submitted in connection with an application become the property of the university.
