Central University of Science & Technology (CUST) is Bangladesh’s first industry-driven private technical university. Being industry-driven means that our primary objective is to prepare graduates who meet the needs of modern industries. In line with current and emerging industry demands, we focus on producing skilled, competent, and job-ready graduates for both national and international opportunities. While we do not guarantee employment after graduation, we are committed to equipping every student with the skills, knowledge, and professional competencies required to become job-ready and competitive in the global job market.

There is a significant gap between theory and practice in traditional education systems. CUST aims to minimize this gap by integrating academic instructors with industry professionals. Academic instructors bring strong theoretical foundations and pedagogical expertise, while industry professionals contribute real-world, hands-on experience and current industry practices. By bringing both under one collaborative framework, CUST ensures a more balanced, practical, and industry-relevant learning experience for students.

Unlike traditional universities that usually offer internships in the final semester, CUST integrates students with industry from the very first semester through its Workplace Learning Center (WPLC). Students gain practical experience by participating in lectures, workshops, seminars, and training sessions conducted in real industry environments by experienced professionals. Alongside this hands-on learning, qualified faculty members provide strong theoretical foundations in the classroom, ensuring a balanced academic and practical education. CUST also regularly invites industry leaders—including MDs, CEOs, CTOs, CFOs, CMOs, COOs, and other senior executives—to share real-world insights, preparing students to become industry-ready professionals from the beginning of their academic journey.

As a technical university with strong industrial linkages, CUST offers structured industry engagement throughout the academic journey. In the final year, the university provides a formal internship opportunity where students work as junior executives within relevant organizations. During this internship, each student is supervised by an industry professional from the same organization, who works closely with them throughout the placement. This supervisor is responsible for evaluating the student’s performance, and the assessment directly contributes to the student’s academic grade.
