Fees Structure, Scholarship & Waiver

The Central University of Science & Technology (CUST) is committed to ensuring access to quality higher education through a transparent and structured fee system along with various scholarships and financial assistance programs. This policy outlines the program fee structure, admission-based scholarships, performance-based scholarships, financial waivers, reward policy for admission support personnel, and the procedures for awarding scholarships and waivers. The objective of this policy is to:

1. Ensure transparency and consistency in tuition fees.
2. Promote academic excellence.
3. Provide financial support to meritorious and deserving students.
4. Encourage student admission and institutional growth.

Program Fees Structure for Graduate and Undergraduate Programs.  As follows:

Note:   BBA graduates will get credit waiver in MBA program. Diploma Engineers passed from TTCs under BTEB can get admission in CSE with waiver of credits.  Students may pay their total program fees on a monthly or semester basis according to university regulations.

Admission-Based Scholarship for Undergraduate Programs.      Scholarships are offered to undergraduate students at the time of admission based on SSC and HSC academic results.

Note: The waiver applies only to tuition fees and applicable as and when the student will pass regularly with minimum GPA 3.0.

Scholarship Based on Academic Performance for Graduate and Undergraduate Programs. Students may receive scholarships based on their academic performance in the Semester Final Examinations. Eligibility for such scholarships begins after the successful completion of a semester. A maximum of 10% of the students in each semester may be awarded scholarships based on their academic performance.

Financial (Tuition Fee) Waiver Policy.        Tuition fee waivers may be granted under the following categories:

Note: If any student gets waiver from more than one category, he/she will get highest one from any one category.

Conditions for Scholarships and Waivers

1. Undergraduate Programs. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 in each semester to continue receiving any scholarship or tuition fee waiver. Tuition fee waivers or scholarships are not applicable to Thesis, Project, or Internship courses. A student may avail only one scholarship or waiver at a time, whichever is more beneficial.
2. Continuation of Scholarship. To continue receiving the scholarship, graduate students must enroll in a minimum of 9 credits per semester and maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

General Eligibility Criteria

1. Students must submit original mark sheet and other relevant documents.
2. Students who had a break of study in the immediate past semester will not be eligible for waiver or scholarship.
3. Students involved in misconduct or disciplinary action will not be eligible.
4. Students with outstanding dues will not be eligible unless permitted by the Vice-Chancellor.

Selection Process

1. The Registrar’s Office will invite applications for scholarships and waivers through the prescribed form.
2. After verification, eligible applications will be forwarded to the committee within five working days after the application deadline.
3. The Registrar’s Office will also submit the result-based scholarship list to the committee.
4. The committee will determine the maximum number of waivers and scholarships for each semester.
5. After approval by the Vice-Chancellor, the final list will be sent to the and Finance and Accounts Office.
6. The decision will be reported to the Finance Committee and subsequently approved by the Board of Trustees through the Syndicate.
7. The entire process shall be completed within the first calendar month of each semester.
8. Tuition fees already paid by eligible students will be adjusted in subsequent semesters or refunded during final clearance.

Application Procedure

Students must submit the prescribed scholarship or waiver application form available at the University Information Desk / Admission Office along with required supporting documents within the specified deadline.

Important Notes

1. Only one scholarship or waiver may be granted to a student at a time.
2. Scholarships and waivers depend on availability of institutional funds.
3. Students having backlog courses in a semester are not eligible for waiver application.
4. Scholarships and waivers are awarded for one semester only and must be reapplied for each semester.
5. To continue receiving financial support, students must maintain minimum CGPA 3.00.
6. The university reserves the right to modify or update this policy at any time without prior notice.
