CUST and University of Wolverhampton Forge Strategic TNE Partnership; Students and Alumni Celebrate Historic First Reunion
Dhaka, Bangladesh — In a landmark day for the Central University of Science and Technology (CUST), the institution celebrated two major milestones: a significant advancement in international academic collaboration and a vibrant inaugural Alumni Reunion, where both current students and former graduates participated with great enthusiasm.
Elevating Global Standards through Transnational Education
The day was highlighted by a high-level visit from the University of Wolverhampton, UK. Dr. Robin Carey (Director of International and UK Partnerships) and Dr. David Atkinson (Director of Educational Partnerships) arrived at the CUST campus to solidify a Transnational Education (TNE) partnership.
The delegation engaged in a productive strategy session with CUST’s Honorable Chairman, Mr. Zahidul Islam, the Vice-Chancellor, and senior management.
“Our mission is to provide high-quality, industry-relevant education that closes the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application,” said Chairman Zahidul Islam. “By integrating industry-standard technology across all departments, we are ensuring our students are ‘future-ready’ from the very beginning.”
Parallel to these academic advancements, the campus was filled with nostalgia and energy as CUST hosted its first-ever Reunion. A key highlight of the event was the active participation of current and former students, who played a central role in both the organization and the festivities.
The celebration featured an enchanting cultural program where talented students performed alongside renowned artists, showcasing their skills in music and the arts. This was followed by a soul-stirring “Baul and Folk Music Night,” which left the audience of students, alumni, and faculty mesmerized.
The evening featured performances by:
- Renowned Artists: Baul Shafi Mondol, Sultana Yasmin Laila, Sardar Heerok Raja, Sumi (Chirkutt), and others.
- CUST Students: Whose energetic and artistic performances added a special spark to the inaugural reunion celebrations.
This twin celebration of international academic excellence and cultural heritage marks a new chapter for CUST as it continues to grow as a premier hub for science, technology, and community in Bangladesh.
